Go to Customer Settings > Devices to view and manage your customer's devices.
A device is an entity that can be configured to send DNS requests to WebTitan Cloud for filtering per your policies, such as an endpoint agent like WebTitan OTG. A device in WebTitan Cloud represents a single OTG 2 installation on a remote machine, such as a laptop or Chromebook. Devices are automatically created in WebTitan Cloud during the OTG 2 installation process.
Click the edit icon in the Options column to the right of the customer device you want to edit and to view more detailed information on a particular device.
Changing the Location Assigned to a Device
The virtual location associated with a device determines the policy given to the user machine. After installation, you can edit the location associated with a device. Follow the steps below edit these device settings.
Go to Settings > Devices and click the edit icon in the Options column for the device you want to edit.
Click the Configuration tab.
To change the virtual location associated with this device, select it from the Virtual Location: drop-down menu. This menu shows a list of virtual locations already created on your WebTitan Cloud in Settings > Locations >Virtual.
To assign the default policy for the selected virtual location in Step 3, and to associate it to this device, select Default from the Policy: drop-down menu.
To assign a policy other than the default policy, select that policy from the Policy: drop-down menu.
Note
The policy selected in the Policy: field updates the policy assigned to the virtual location selected in the Virtual Location: field.
Click Save to save your changes.
Advanced Device Configuration
Follow the steps below to view and edit the device configuration for a single device on your WebTitan Cloud. This configuration can be used to push configuration changes to a device after OTG 2 installation. Once saved, the configuration is pushed out to the device the next time it communicates with WebTitan Cloud.
Testing configuration changes on a single device using the Advanced Device Configuration is recommended before pushing configuration changes out to multiple devices.
Caution
Incorrect JSON configuration can cause an OTG 2 device to stop working, so please edit with caution.
Go to Settings > Devices and click the edit icon in the Options column for the device you want to edit.
Click the Advanced tab.
The window is an editor that you can click into and edit the content. The content is validated when you save and only valid JSON format is accepted. See https://www.json.org/ for information on JSON format.
When you have finished editing, click Save to save your changes and update the device configuration for this device or click Reset to revert to the device configuration template. If saved, the OTG 2 agent syncs with WebTitan Cloud every hour to get the latest configuration. OTG will also retrieve the latest configuration following a network change, or following a machine power event.
