Editing Your Default Policy in WebTitan Cloud (Service Provider)

Policies determine what categories of website your customers have access to. A service provider account has a default policy that is assigned to all customers once they are added to WebTitan Cloud.

It is good practice to adjust your Default Policy to suit your needs before adding your customers. Go to Policies > Default Policy to view and edit your default policy. Any changes you make will not affect any existing customer policies.

Click the links below for more information on what can be configured in each tab:

Categories

The Categories tab lists all categories of website that are currently defined in the central web categories database. For a description of each category, take a look at Category Descriptions.

Use the Categories tab to specify what categories you want to allow or block access to for a particular policy. By default, all categories are allowed. To edit Categories:

  1. Click Policies > Customer Policies.

  2. Click the edit icon in the Options column for the policy you want to edit.

  3. Click the Categories tab.

  4. Allow or block categories for the policy you are currently editing by clicking on the radio buttons. Toggle between green to allow access to that category or red to block access.

Allow all categories, block all categories or toggle (invert) the current selection using the links on the right of the screen:

    Note

A URL may belong to more than one category, in which case, if any category is blocked then the request will be blocked.

  5. Click Save below the list of categories to save changes to your policy.

Web-Filter

The Web-Filter tab allows you to enable or disable unclassified traffic for a policy.

  2. Click the edit icon in the Options column for the policy you want to edit.

  3. Click the Web-Filter tab.

  5. Click Save to save changes to your policy.

  5. Click Save to save your setting.

  1. Click Policies > Customer Policies.

  2. Click the edit icon in the Options column for the policy you want to edit.

    Note

For notifications to work, an email server must be specified in your system setup.

  5. Check the box beside Blocked reasons to be notified of: and Unclassified if you want to be specifically notified about unclassified traffic.

  6. In Blocked category access to be notified of:, select which categories (when accessed) will trigger an email notification to the email address specified above.
